Description
VE Day is the day that marks the day that Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allied Forces. This first VE Day happened on May 8, 1945 when Winston Churchill announced that the war was over. From that point forward we have been celebrating this turning point in our history on the 8th of May. To help you teach your kids about VE Day we have created these beautiful VE Day colouring sheets that not only help your kids learn a little bit more about history but also have fun while doing so.
These sheets prompt your kids think about what it may have been to live through that time and that day.
Here is what is included in the sheets;
- Front and back book covers,
- A sheet prompting your kids to draw themselves reacting to the news given by Churchill,
- A word search,
- A VE Day puzzle,
- A sheet teaching kids more on who we need to thank on VE Day,
- A page for your child to design their own metal,
- A poppy counting sheet,
- A page prompting your kids to create their own Union Jack using playdough,
- A memory match game, and,
- The memory match tokens that go with the game.
This is such a fun workbook and one that we know the kids will have a lot of fun working through. If you are going to be using this in the classroom or for homeschooling, you can have the kids work through this as a activity to go hand in hand with the lessons that you have planned.
If you are going the VE Day colouring sheets at home, you can use this workbook to teach your kids about history and maybe even honour family members that have fought in the war or remember the war or details surrounding it. It’s a great way to teach the kids and have conversations around the subject.
